Ceremony for the laying of the first stone of the new buildings

Today was a special day in Dospadu, the location of our future new home.

With deep gratitude and connection, we performed the Sankustapana ceremony – the ritual of laying the first stone for the new buildings of Share Kids Home.

📿 What is Sankustapana?
Sankustapana is an ancient tradition in which the first stone is laid on an empty plot of land. In India, this ceremony symbolizes a pure and respectful beginning.
Under various names such as Bhumi Pooja or Boomi Puja, the rite is performed to honor Mother Earth and to bring the five natural elements – air, water, earth, space, and fire – into harmony.

It is a moment of connection between human and earth, an invocation of protection, healing, and prosperity for everything that will rise on that ground. 🙏

For us, this means building a safe, loving space for the children we care for.
A home with strong foundations – both literally and symbolically.

We are deeply grateful to be able to realize this together.
Step by step, stone by stone, heart to heart. 💛

The next phase of the construction work in Dospadu has officially begun. After pouring the first foundation layers, we’ve now entered a new and essential stage: filling and leveling the ground around and beneath the building.

De volgende fase van de bouwwerken in Dospadu is van start gegaan. Na het storten van de eerste funderingslagen, is het nu tijd voor een onzichtbare maar essentiële stap: het op- en aanvullen van de grond rond en onder het gebouw.
